We made our own toy

In this second unit we're focussing on toys. One of the ways the subject has been presented to the kids is by following the characters Anne, Michael, Suzie, Linda, and Brian while they show us their favorite toys.

But more than simply knowing the toys' names in English they've had a hands-on experience when building a shaker.

The kids painted the label to put on the water bottle in May and on June 2nd they finalized it by filling it with rice.

It wasn't all about toys though, this activity served more than one purpose. By doing this, we also worked on their motor skills and revised the words "loud" and "quiet".

In the end, we went to the playground to take a beautiful picture to show everybody the shakers we made.

Fizemos nosso próprio brinquedo

Nesta segunda unidade, nosso foco são os brinquedos. Um dos jeitos que o assunto foi apresentado às crianças foi seguindo a historinha dos personagens Anne, Michael, Suzie, Linda, e Brian enquanto eles nos mostram seus brinquedos favoritos.

Mas mais do que simplesmente saber o nome dos brinquedos em Inglês eles tiveram uma "experiência mãos na massa" quando construímos nosso chocalho. As crianças pintaram o rótulo para colocar na garrafa de água em maio e no dia 2 de junho finalizaram o projeto preenchendo as garrafinhas com arroz.

Entretanto, nem tudo é sobre brinquedo, essa atividade serviu para mais de um propósito. Ao fazermos isso trabalhamos a coordenação motora das crianças e ainda revisamos as palavrinhas "loud" e "quiet".

Ao final, fomos ao parquinho tirar uma foto bem linda para mostrar a todos os nossos chocalhos.
