Color mixing

Toddlers have an incredible capacity for learning through hands-on experiences. They are extremely curious and always paying attention to the world around them.

In unit 3, we have some new colors to explore and this time it was green. But more than showing them what green looks like and how we call it, we had an exercise designed to hold their attention and feed into their curious minds.

At first, they were presented with their new green pompoms and wrist bands. They love this kind of prop. For a while, they just played and repeated the word "green" a couple of times.

Then it was time for our experiment to begin. The kids were given blue and yellow paint and a paintbrush. They were encouraged to mix them together. Their faces lit up when they saw the color changing. Finally, they used the color they had created to paint a landscape in their books.

Crianças pequenas têm uma incrível capacidade de aprender “colando a mão na massa”. Elas são extremamente curiosas e sempre estão prestando atenção ao mundo ao seu redor.

Na unidade 3, nós temos algumas cores novas para explorar e agora foi a vez do verde. Mas mais do que o que é “green”, nós fizemos um exercício que chamou a atenção e aguçou a curiosidade dos pequenos.

Primeiramente, eles receberam as novas pulseiras e pompons verdes. Eles amam esses acessórios. Por um tempinho, eles apenas brincaram a repetiram a palavra “green” algumas vezes.

Depois, começamos o nosso experimento. Eles receberam tinta azul e amarela e um pincel, e foram encorajados a misturar as duas cores. Seus rostinhos se iluminaram quando perceberam a cor mudando. Por último, eles usaram essa cor recém-criada para pintar uma paisagem no livro.
